AMS students compete at Virtual Scholastic Meet

Several AMS students represented Alva at a virtual scholastic meet hosted by Fairview’s Chamberlain Middle School on November 9th.  The students took 100 question tests in the subjects of ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Current Events and Humanities.

The following students placed in the Top 10 on their tests:

6th grade – Conner Adair – 3rd in Current Events, Taytum Schlarb – 6th in ELA and 9th in Humanities, Jagger Lohmann – 7th in Current Events, Matthew Pannell - 7th in Humanities and 10th in ELA, Kaylen Woods – 9th in Science, River Cunningham – 10th in Humanities.

7th grade – Kylie Adair – 2nd in Current Events, Katelee Martin – 3rd in Humanities, 8th in Science, 9th in Math, Avery Goss – 7th in ELA, Madeline Ryerson – 7th in ELA, Myah Graves – 9th in Science.

8th grade – Hudson Feely – 1st in Science and 3rd in Math, Evan Ferguson – 2nd in Social Studies, Toby Anton – 3rd in ELA, Turner Killman – 5th in Science, Brady Lott – 5th in Current Events and 7th in Social Studies, Jaxon Headlee – 6th in Social Studies, Teagan Cook – 6th in Humanities, Mason Orcutt – 8th in Science and 8th in Math, Kane Towns – 8th in ELA, Sarah Whipple – 10th in Humanities.

Other students who competed and were just shy of the Top 10 were:  Dayton Murry, Skyler Longhurst, Tucker Hannaford, Hadlee Ohm, Kenadie Willis, Kimberlie Willis, Cade Mackey, Kaden Lambert.

All students who competed and placed in the Top 3 earned the opportunity to represent AMS at the Tournament of Champions Scholastic Meet at Redlands Community College in El Reno, Okla. in April 2021!
